Catalog description
This course will emphasize the theory and practice of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Safe handling and correct set up of equipment will be covered. Fillet Welds with a E6010 root pass and E7018 multi-pass fill and cover will be welded on 1/4 inch mild steel in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. One hour lecture/discussion and two hours lab a week.
