Catalog description
An introduction for non-mathematics majors to some useful mathematical concepts and applications in management, economics, business, social science, and other areas. Topics include an in-depth study of linear equations, linear programming, simplex method, matrix theory, an introduction to exponential and logarithmic functions, mathematics of finance, and an introduction to probability and statistics. This course is instructed all online, but students are required to meet online as a group per the days and times listed.A TI-83 or TI-84 graphing calculator is required. Students should be aware that use of more advanced graphing calculators (such as the TI-89 or TI-92) may be prohibited. Please refer to the instructor's syllabus.
