Intro to Programming: Python

Catalog description
An introduction to programming designed to introduce common programming concepts to prepare for traditional programming courses. The topics to be covered include: structured programming concepts, pseudocode, Boolean logic, file processing, interactive input and output, and an introduction to object-oriented programming concepts. Students will be expected to solve some problems using a programming language. Three hours lecture/discussion a week.

Section notes
This course is instructed all online, but students are required to meet online as a group per the days and times listed. Synchronous courses happen online, but there are regularly scheduled class meetings just like face-to-face classes have. Everyone meets together online using a tool like Zoom or the D2L Virtual Classroom. Students and the instructor interact in the moment, and also communicate through email and discussion boards. Assignments, quizzes, and other activities are due on a weekly basis, just like in a face-to-face class.
