Catalog description
An introduction to ceramics. This studio course consists of both hand and wheel methods of construction. Students will learn about clay bodies, glazes, decoration methods, and kiln firing. Course emphasis is on functional as well as sculptural work. Studio-based courses include appropriate instruction in the health and safety issues relative to the methods of the course and the materials being used. Six studio hours a week. Course accepted by select college - see advisor for more information.
