Builds on the basic knowledge of surgical specialties. Emphasizes the role of the surgical technologist in orthopedic, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, peripheral vascular and robotic surgical procedures with emphasis on anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, diagnostic interventions, instrumentation, equipment, procedural steps and patient safety.
