Catalog description

Provides an introduction to the profession of surgical technology. Explores the history and professional associations while emphasizing the roles and responsibilities of the surgical technologist and surgical team members. Introduces the biopsychosocial needs of the surgical patient and respecting diverse populations. Ethical, moral and legal issues are explored. Provides information about employability skills, regulatory agencies, healthcare facilities, as well as departmental organization and management within the facilities.
