This course focuses on the story the Bible tells. Attention is given to the place Christ has in this story. Knowledge of this story is the ground for establishing a “witness presence” in the Church. The theme of “consummation” in this story (in addition to that of “redemption”) is emphasized. This class will allow students to analyze and critique the contemporary ministry landscape, so that knowledge of this story enables them to look at issues like community needs assessment, models of church and discipleship, ministry across generations, and the use of technology, so that they can develop their own understanding and practice of ministry.
