Course emphasizes the care of adults, focused on health promotion, prevention of episodic illness and maintenance of health status. Gerontologic changes and rehabilitation needs are addressed. Utilizes nursing process as a foundation to provide nursing care. Course is composed of classroom and clinical experience in the acute, chronic and rehabilitation care settings. This course integrates concepts to prepare students to deliver culturally congruent and appropriate care. Students must be admitted to the Professional Nursing Sequence to be able to register for this course.
