(Slashed with ARCH 45214 ) Investigates architecture from 1850 through 1932. Discusses developments of ornament, style, fabrication, regional identity, globalization, technology, war and the impact of these on architecture and the city. Studies and interrogates the traditional architectural canon and brings to light the contributions of women and minority architects. Engages students in graduate-level research about topics surrounding early 20th century architecture.
