(Slashed with ENGR 84002 ) This course examines how distributed and interconnected systems function, communicate and maintain resilience under cyber threats. Students model networks; analyze communication pathways; evaluate tradeoffs between usability and security; and implement protective measures on distributed architectures. Coursework blends engineering systems thinking with hands-on exploration of security configurations, logging, monitoring and protocol behavior. Students build on the foundations from ENGR 64001 to design secure effective, multi-node environments.
