Catalog description

Course introduces feminist philosophy understood as a critical project. As such, the course focuses on issues related to gender, sex, and sexual identity, and may include discussions of gender roles and sexual differences, as well as investigation of social frameworks that reproduce gendered social expectations. The course focuses extensively on contemporary texts and contextualizes those sources historically. Students with junior standing or above, who have not taken a Philosophy (PHIL) course, should contact the department for a prerequisite override.
