Course explores the development of philosophy in the 18th and 19th centuries, such as Kant, Hegel and Marx. Reading assignments include primary source material. Focal topics include Kant’s critical project before turning to its reception and the various responses to it. The course results in an introduction to the school of thought known as German Idealism.
