Catalog description

The focus of this course is the application of evidence-based practice and research in the promotion of the health and wellness of patients during their reproductive years by women’s health nurse practitioners. The emphasis is on preconception counseling, normal pregnancy focusing on prevention and health promotion, as well as the management of deviations from normal. Clinical assessment skills is emphasized, including diagnosis, treatment and evaluation. The nurse practitioner student is expected to concentrate efforts in the attainment and safe execution of skills pertinent to pregnant patients and their family.
