Catalog description

Students study family and group psychotherapeutic treatment modalities and gain the knowledge and skills necessary to assess interactions among family and group systems and their relationship to mental health functioning. Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical experiences, students learn to apply therapeutic communication strategies based on theories and research evidence to reduce emotional distress, facilitate cognitive and behavioral change and foster growth and resilience.
