HEALTH POLICY AND ADVANCED NURSING PRACTICE

Catalog description

Course focuses on the role of the advanced practice nurse in healthcare policy-making, advocacy and analysis. Students analyze historical and current policy initiatives that influence healthcare funding and delivery, considering the roles of government, organizations, the discipline of nursing, health care leaders and individuals in setting policy. Students apply the nursing lens in advocating for policy advocacy considering the social determinants of health, vulnerable populations and ethics.
