Catalog description

This course prepares students to deliver high-quality and safe nursing care to the childbearing person, family and neonate. It integrates the nursing process, evidence-based practice, critical thinking, interprofessional partnerships, social determinants of health and person-centered culturally sensitive care. A holistic approach is used to implement the nursing process for obstetrical and neonatal populations. Course content ranges from pre-conception to the postpartum and neonatal periods. Students must be admitted to the Professional Nursing Sequence to be able register for this course.
