Catalog description
Study and practice of traditional and contemporary instrumental methods, materials and literature within elementary and secondary band and orchestra programs. The course includes, but is not limited to, experience designing a K-12 instrumental music curriculum, advocacy and assessment, lesson planning, program organization, budget and exposure to philosophical perspectives toward teaching P-12 instrumental music. 20 clinical field hours within instrumental music teaching are required.
