Catalog description

This course includes development of problem-solving skills, including recognizing quantities in real-world scenarios, noting dependency relationships of these quantities, creating accurate diagrams of the varying quantities in scenarios, precisely describing variables and quantities, identifying domains in context and representing the varying relationship of two quantities on a coordinate plane. Algebra skills reviewed include factoring, solving linear and non-linear equations and simplifying rational expressions and expressions with integer and rational exponents. The modeling component includes recognizing linear vs. exponential change and writing function models for linear and exponential growth and decay.
