Catalog description

Course introduces insurance students to the principles and practices of employee benefits within the context of the insurance industry. Topics include health and welfare plans, retirement programs, voluntary benefits, and compliance with federal regulations such as ERISA, COBRA and ACA. Students learn how employee benefits intersect with insurance products and risk management strategies, preparing them for roles in underwriting, brokerage and benefits consulting.
