(Slashed with FIN 46051 )This is a rigorous course regarding FinTech and cryptocurrencies related to the future of finance. The world of finance is changing rapidly, much of this is because of new technologies. Students learn about the world of FinTech and blockchain as it relates to business applications, including cryptocurrencies and various financial technologies. This class is designed for business application, not for programing purposes. Students are encouraged to bring their ideas and questions to class for discussion. Students read a book and summarize the chapters, perform a presentation to the class, perform a case study and read and summarize the Bitcoin White Paper. Additionally, students hear in person presentations from two separate industry leaders. One will be an original investor in Bitcoin and the other will be an alternative cryptocurrency investor.
