Catalog description

(Slashed with ENGR 48003 and ENGR 58003 ) Students complete a requirements-driven spacecraft and mission design, and then implement that design as a functional small satellite using industry-standard approaches and components. The design and build activity involves electronics assembly, programming, chassis construction, component integration, testing and simulated space operations. Lecture topics include launch systems, space environment, spacecraft orbits and ground tracks, spacecraft design and sizing, budget designs, subsystem design and evaluation and cost and risk.
