Students develop proficiency in critical reading skills for academic study at an initial high-intermediate level. Focus is on applying reading strategies to authentic reading texts, academic vocabulary development, paraphrasing, summarizing, participating in classroom discussion and independent reading in English. Course does not count toward graduation.
