Catalog description

This course introduces the fundamentals of modern computing systems. It covers the basic architecture, operating system that manages the underlying hardware and basic network that now enables building of networked computing systems. Students learn about key hardware and software components that make up computer and network internals and their essential functions, and learn how these work together as a whole to make computing systems that run efficiently, reliably and securely. This course is suitable for students who may not have an undergraduate degree in computer science or closely related areas.
