(Slashed with BSCI 40170 and BSCI 50170 ) This course explores the physical, chemical and biological aspects of flowing water ecosystems. We cover topics across many levels of biological organization (individual organisms to communities) and broad geographic extents (habitat patches to global cycles), and process these ranges from simple to complex. The lecture covers basic concepts and the lab supports these concepts with field and lab measurements. The course culminates with independent projects that explore current issues related to human impacts on streams.
