Catalog description

Course explores the essential qualities of art and motivations for creating art in both Western and non-Western cultures through a thematic paradigm. By the end of the course, students develop an enhanced ability to identify and describe various media and styles of artistic production, and have a basic knowledge of the major cultural periods and representative artworks throughout the history of world art.
