(Slashed with ARTE 51192 ) This course extends secondary-level visual arts teaching practice by exploring variations in high school curricula formats and structures, using advanced strategies to lead conceptual study of contemporary art and issues with middle and high school students, developing studio skills and processes aligned to secondary courses, generating reports and graphics from assessment data to analyze lesson effectiveness and modify instruction, applying trauma-informed policy and practice when developing lessons for regional juvenile detention centers and other alternative teaching sites and engaging in immersive mentorships with regional middle and high school art educators.
