This course examines Civil Rights and Black Power movements during the 20th century and addresses a series of questions still relevant today: How do social movements begin? What leadership styles and protest tactics and strategies work? How do social movements evolve over time? This course also explores the history of the Civil Rights and Black Power movements at Kent State University.
