Includes comparative cross-cultural socialization and personality development; group and national character; relationship of personality to politics, social and occupational roles, and recent explorations of the relationship between culture and cognition. Examines contributions by leading figures, from Freud, Boas, Benedict, and Whorf through modern studies of spatial cognition and navigation.
