This course explores the theory and practice of nonviolent action as a method for transforming conflict and pursuing social change. Students examine key concepts such as strategy, tactics and the paradox of repression, while analyzing how systems of power shape movements and participation. Through case studies, simulations and engagement with local organizations practicing nonviolent action, students connect theoretical frameworks to real-world experiences and develop skills for evaluating and designing effective nonviolent strategies.
