Catalog description
This course affords students a unique opportunity to explore the function and structure of public health in areas outside of the United States. Students assist in the development and implementation of health promotion and prevention activities in developing communities. Participants are engaged in public health activities, including community mapping, program planning, direct service delivery, assessment, and reflection. Understanding cultural values and beliefs related to health and working as part of interdisciplinary teams are also part of the students’ experiences.
