Catalog description

In this course, students apply advanced nursing knowledge and clinical judgment to provide comprehensive person and family care to obstetric patients and their newborns, individuals with complex physical and mental health needs, and members of special populations across the lifespan. Students manage high-acuity situations, respond to complications, and coordinate care with interprofessional teams. Emphasis is placed on safe medication administration, prioritization, escalation of care, and effective communication. Students develop and implement individualized plans of care while addressing transitions, end-of-life care, and population-specific needs in both inpatient and community settings.
