Catalog description

In this seminar course, students explore the nurse’s role as a leader and advocate in delivering patient-centered care. Students examine and reflect on communication strategies that foster trust, empathy, and respect in diverse healthcare settings. Emphasis is placed on shared decision-making, ethical practice, and the development of patient education approaches that support informed choices and self-management. Students enhance their ability to engage patients, families, and interprofessional teams in collaborative care planning. Cultural awareness, personal values, legal frameworks, and ethical principles will be explored as integral components of effective nurse-patient relationships.
