Catalog description

In this course, students build upon and apply foundational nursing concepts in the care of individuals with common acute and chronic conditions across the lifespan. Experiences in laboratory, simulation, community and acute care settings focus on physical and mental health care for pediatric, adult, and older adult populations. Students practice age-appropriate assessments, implement safety measures, engage in therapeutic communication, and provide person-centered, family-focused care. Emphasis is placed on clinical judgment, health education, and early recognition of changes in patient condition.
