Nursing Care I: Foundations of Nursing Practice

In this course, students learn foundational concepts of professional nursing practice, including the nursing process, clinical judgment, and ethical practice. They develop skills in therapeutic and interprofessional communication, culturally responsive care, and health promotion across the lifespan. The course emphasizes safety, evidence-based decision-making, coping and resiliency, and professional accountability. Students explore legal responsibilities, including documentation and advance directives, and examine the impact of social determinants of health. Students build competencies essential for delivering safe, ethical, and patient-centered nursing care.
