This course is the culminating practicum providing music therapy majors with advanced, supervised clinical training in preparation for internship. Students refine their clinical musicianship, therapeutic presence, and professional competencies through immersive placements in diverse healthcare and community settings. Emphasis is placed on independent treatment planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation, as well as integration of theoretical knowledge with clinical decision-making. Students are expected to demonstrate entry-level proficiency in applying music therapy methods across populations, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and adhering to professional and ethical standards. Successful completion of this practicum confirms readiness for internship and transition into the professional field of music therapy.
