Kennesaw State University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This advanced practicum provides supervised clinical experience in diverse music therapy settings, emphasizing greater independence, leadership, and professional competence. Students refine their ability to assess client needs, design and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate outcomes using evidence-based practices. The course integrates advanced clinical musicianship with professional documentation, treatment planning, and ethical decision-making. By the fourth practicum, students are expected to demonstrate increased autonomy in leading sessions, collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, and begin developing a personal therapeutic style that reflects best practices in the field.
