Opera Theater

Catalog description

This course provides students with comprehensive training in the performance and production of opera. Through rehearsal and staged performance, students develop skills in vocal technique, acting, stage movement, and ensemble collaboration. Emphasis is placed on musical accuracy, dramatic interpretation, and professional performance practices. Repertoire includes selections from standard operatic literature as well as scenes from works spanning diverse styles and periods. Open to qualified singers by audition, Opera Theater culminates in public performances that integrate the elements of music, theater, and stagecraft.
