This course introduces the concepts, practices and concerns of information privacy and security unique to the healthcare settings. The course provides the student with a thorough understanding of the HIPAA security and privacy rules, meaningful use security requirements, security risk assessment and management, and how to integrate privacy and security into medical practices.
