Catalog description

This course introduces students to interviewing skills in non-crisis settings. Communication skills learned in the course include relation skills building techniques within a problem-solving model. Additionally, students learn skills to identify client strengths and to work with resistant clients. Students are required to role-play, videotape, and critique skills learned in the course. The goal of this course is to expose the student to a variety of perspectives used by all human service workers.
