This course surveys the formal qualities, technological developments, and critical approaches important to understanding episodic and serial forms of television. Specifically, this course covers sitcoms, teleplays, anthology shows, documentaries, television movies, miniseries, and other TV formats, as well as movie shorts, serials, and film adaptations of famous television series.
