Catalog description

This course is a 2-week study abroad course where students will explore multiple facets of Japan. Students will learn about volcanism and plate tectonics by hiking a live volcano and visiting geothermal hot springs and will visit Fukushima Prefecture to learn about the impacts of the nuclear meltdown in 2011. Students will explore Japanese culture and history through visits to Japanese museums, a castle, shrines, temples, and a Kabuki play.
