Catalog description

This course explores Chinese culture and society primarily through the study of Chinese cuisine. Students discover the uniqueness of Chinese cuisine through various class activities and assignments that focus on food practices, views about food, and the role of cuisine in daily life. Through the lens of food, students learn about Chinese language, geography, history, philosophy, and the fabrics of Chinese society.
