Advocacy, Policy, and Ethics

Catalog description

Advocacy, Policy, and Ethics explores the impact of policy, socioeconomic, political, geographic factors, among others to improve the accessibility and delivery of occupational therapy services to persons, groups, and populations. The course addresses ethical principles for guiding professional conduct in a variety of contexts. With a focus on advocacy and occupational justice, the course also explores legislation, regulations, and standards of practice which inform practice and policy in existing and emerging service delivery models. * Effective with the 2026–27 Academic Catalog (Class of 2029), this course is offered for the summer term. Students in the Classes of 2027 and 2028 follow the previous course code OCTH 7400 offered in the fall term.
