Catalog description

This course focuses on the use of next generation sequencing to identify microorganisms, pathogens, and antimicrobial resistance based on genotype. The Human Microbiome Project will serve as a roadmap for understanding the purpose of metagenomics and microbiome analysis in healthcare. We will further discuss the role of sequencing in infectious disease diagnostis and in responding to disease outbreaks such as COVID-19. During the course you will be able to take a deep dive into a relevant topic of interest to you, and learn how to use various bioinformatic tools for data analysis and visualization.
