Catalog description

This course provides an overview of public health, populationbased interventions, and societal and public policy issues related to public health genetics. Public health genetics activities and perspectives at the local and state levels, as well as academia and industry are illustrated using existing programs and projects as examples. This course takes a "handson" approach, using problembased and studentdirected learning through lectures, small group discussions, and inclass activities to highlight the role of theory and practice in public health within the context of genetics medicine.
