Catalog description

Studies the cultural system of cities, and the influences of urban life on social organization and attitudes. The course focuses on rural-urban migration, urban segregation, and contemporary urban problems including poverty, racism, violence and street gangs. In addition, the dynamics of acculturation in the Jersey City immigrant community will be addressed. (Previously NJCU Course SOCI-268)
