DISSERTATION SUPERVISION I

Catalog description

This course consists of work between student and dissertation chair developing a dissertation idea; conducting a thorough literature search; and writing up and orally defending the dissertation proposal. Graded on a credit granted (CG) or credit not granted (NC)basis. The doctoral dissertation is intended to help students develop the skills necessary to become informed consumers of the psychological literature and apply these skills in the production of an original and independent scholarly product. The dissertation project also provides students the opportunity to further enhance their critical thinking and provides an opportunity to deepen knowledge and thought about a particular area of interest relevant to the practice of school and/or clinical psychology.
