Catalog description

This course is the first part of a two-semester course focusing on the treatment ofindividuals with substance abuse problems. Specifically, this course addresses the following issues: assessment of alcohol/drug problem utilizing the Addiction Severity Index and genogram; clinical aspects of alcohol, and commonly abused drugs including marijuana, cocaine, heroin and inhalants; and major theories of addiction.
