Catalog description

This course is designed to teach students the skills necessary to provide evidence based supported education services to people with psychiatric disabilities in order to assist them in accessing and completing post-secondary education. Working individually and in small assigned groups, students will apply the concepts from the lectures and readings to a set of on-going class activities. Each student will be assigned to a ?Career Services Team?. Each team will be given a narrative of a person with psychiatric disabilities (focus person). These narratives will be used to complete several assignments. On-line lectures, group discussions, exercises and simulations will provide students with opportunities to explore and practice the skills necessary to provide services that promote education planning, acquisition, and completion.
