Catalog description

The final of two required 'elective' rotations, this 4-week clinical experience provides the student with patient care experience in a specific area of interest. This supervised clinical practice experience (SCPE) may take place in any of the core settings or in a medical or surgical subspecialty practice setting offered by the PA program. Under the supervision of a clinical preceptor, the student will incorporate knowledge and skills gained in the didactic phase of the program and other SCPEs to the care of patients in these distinctive settings. The elective experiences (PAS*6400 and PAS*6500) enable the student to develop and demonstrate their competence in the knowledge, skill and behaviors needed for the transition to clinical PA practice.
